Hard Day at "The Rock" for Hattori Racing Enterprises
Mooresville, NC (05-08-2008) The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series begins a grueling stretch that technically begins next weekend at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, on May 16th, and ends with the Memphis race on June 28th. For Crocs driver Justin Marks, this non-stop racing stretch began at Kansas Speedway.

“Most of the Truck Series drivers will be taking a couple weeks off between Kansas and Lowe’s, but we’ve been staying very busy testing and racing,” said Marks, of Rocklin, CA. “We tested at the Motor Mile and at Rockingham this week for our Crocs/Construct Corps Tundra program, and last weekend, we raced at Rockingham Speedway in the ARCA RE/MAX Series.”
For Raybestos Rookie of the Year contender Marks, getting track time is key.
“When we are testing our Tundra, we are looking for ways to improve chassis setups, brakes, steering and driver communication. Racing for Hattori Racing Enterprises at Rockingham in the ARCA RE/MAX Series, was more about driver experience and driver communication,” said Marks. “The more time I can spend behind the wheel, racing or testing, obviously, the better prepared I am.”
Marks feels that crew chief Jason Overstreet and no. 9 Crocs/Construct Corps Tundra crew at Germain Racing are well focused on the challenges at hand – securing a strong points standing, consistently improving finishes and winning the rookie title.
“The Raybestos Rookie of the Year battle has been very close all season, and it’s not going to get any easier. That competition is a lot of why I enjoy racing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. The competition is so tight, even at the rookie level,” said Marks. “Jason is working with a lot of ideas to keep improving our Tundra and I think we are all looking forward to the Lowe’s through Memphis stretch.”
Justin Marks is currently second in the rookie of the year standings and is 17th in the Truck Series points standings.
