Marks Has Competitive Race and Top-20 Finish at Mansfield
Mansfield, OH (05-25-2008) – NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series rookie driver Justin Marks was prepared to learn some more hard, short-track lessons at Mansfield Motorsports Park on Saturday. Instead, Marks drove the no. 9 Construct Corps Tundra as high as fourth-place in the running order and spent the better part of 100 of the Ohio 250’s 250 laps running in the top-ten before finishing 18th.

“We had a good race today in the Construct Corps Tundra. We had a pretty good truck and a good race strategy which we took advantage of and gained some track position,” said Marks, who started 26th but was running in the top-ten in just over 60 laps.
Marks was able to maintain his position in the top-ten, even in the top-five, for almost 100 laps, but eventually, he had to forfeit some positions.
“We were a little tight through the middle of the corners so I couldn’t drive as hard down into the corners as I needed. Some guys were able to get under me and we sort of got freight-trained there a couple times and lost a lot of our track position,” said Marks. “Overall it was a really good race for the team and for me as a rookie driver with a lot to learn about racing on short-tracks.”
Marks maintained 17th place in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series points standings and looks forward to his next learning experience: the high-speed, high-banked, concrete oval…Dover International Speedway. Tune in for the racing action Friday, May 30th on SPEED.
